Lietkabelis levels LKL semis series at 1-1 73
Zalgiris Kaunas didn’t have much to offer on the road and lost to Lietkabelis Panevezys, 55-79 (16-20, 11-28, 16-14, 12-17), in Game 2 of the Lithuanian Basketball League semifinals.
Lietkabelis leveled the best-of-five series at one win apiece, while Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday (May 19) at Zalgirio Arena.
Lietkabelis ran away from their opponents in the second quarter. EuroCup’s squad organized a 9-0 run and created a solid 14-point advantage (33-19).
After another 6-0 spurt late in the second tally, Lietkabelis were up by 21 at halftime (48-27).
The second half was a mere formality, as Zalgiris could not bring the intrigue back.
Vytenis Lipkevicius led the route for the winners, accumulating 21 points (3/5 2PT, 4/6 3PT, 3/4 FT), 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, and 24 PIR.
Josh Nebo was a bright spot for Zalgiris, posting 16 points (8/9 2PT), 5 rebounds, 1 turnover, 1 block, and 16 PIR.
