Zalgiris parts ways with Marek Blazevic 9
Zalgiris Kaunas continue their summer moves, with the latest being parting ways with big man Marek Blazevic, who played two seasons with the team. The two sides went separate ways on a mutual agreement.
The 20-year-old center, standing at 211 cm tall, put on the green-and-white jersey in the 2020-2021 season, where he made his Euroleague debut. In his first season in Europe’s top club tournament, he played 6 games and averaged 2 points.
In the 2021-2022 season, Blazevic increased his playing time to an average of 12 minutes per game in the EuroLeague, scoring 5.7 points, grabbing 2.6 rebounds and 5.3 efficiency. In the LKL he put up 8.7 points and 3.8 rebounds.
Blazevic and Zalgiris won the LKL championship for the first time in his career, followed by the league bronze the following year and triumphed twice in the King Mindaugas Cup.
