Tyler Cavanaugh and Rolands Smits called up for national team duty 0

Two Zalgiris Kaunas foreigners will put on the jerseys of their national teams in the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers this August.

Tyler Cavanaugh, who will start his second season in Kaunas, has been invited to the Team USA camp, while recent signing Rolands Smits will defend the honor of the Latvian national team.

USA is set to go up against Uruguay in Las Vegas, followed by a matchup against Colombia on the road.

Meanwhile, Latvia will face Turkey at home on the 25^th of August and Great Britain away on the 28^th.

Similar to the likes of Lukas Lekavicius, Ignas Brazdeikis, Arnas Butkevicius, Laurynas Birutis and Tomas Dimsa, who are on the Lithuanian squad preparing for EuroBasket 2022, both foreigners will join Zalgiris Kaunas’ preparations for the season a bit later.

Zalgiris will hold their first training session in Kaunas on the 20^th of August.
