Zalgiris continues winning ways in Panevezys 6
Zalgiris extended the winning streak in the Betsafe-LKL championship to four, as the green-and-whites defeated 7bet-Lietkabelis 74-66 on the road in Panevezys.
Zalgiris took the lead early in the game, but the margin was far from safe, with the visitors heading the scoreboard 21-17 after the first quarter.
Zalgiris couldn’t find a bucket for 3 minutes in the second quarter, but a barrage of long-range shots eventually pushed their lead to double-digits.
Already up by 12 at the break, the Kaunas side extended that margin even further with a 8-0 run to start the second half. And while Lietkabelis managed to trim the deficit to single-digits before the game, the margin was just too large to let slip for Zalgiris.
Karolis Lukosiunas and Keenan Evans led the team with 12 points apiece, with the latter also dropping 6 assists. Kevarrius Hayes had 11 points, as Edgaras Ulanovas and Rolands Smits ended up with 10 points each.
