Zalgiris takes a win in Utena 2

Zalgiris Kaunas improved to 17-and-3 in the Betsafe-LKL, with a road victory in Utena. Kazys Maksvytis’ men defeated local Uniclub Casino – Juventus side 78-67 and dropped them to a 13-7 record.

It was a close affair in the first half, as neither side really managed to get enough momentum to jump ahead in the first two periods, as Zalgiris trailed 33-36 at halftime.

The green-and-whites turned things around in the third quarter, heading into the final 10 minutes, 55-47.

The lead raised to double-digits at 66-53, and eventually Zalgiris won 78-67.

Laurynas Birutis led the scorers with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Tomas Dimsa added 11 points, while Ignas Brazdeikis scored 10.
