Zalgiris rolls past Prienai after second-half surge 4

In a match-up between two teams on other ends of the Lithuanian Basketball League standings, Zalgiris had no issues getting past Labas GAS Prienai. In the end, the green-and-whites emerged as clear winners with a final score of 94-57.

Zalgiris, who came into the game with a 24-3 record, maintained their dominant form and were able to secure their 25th victory of the season. Labas GAS, on the other hand, struggled to keep up with their opponents and now find themselves with a 3-22 record.

The first quarter saw both teams trading baskets, with Zalgiris holding a slim 19-17 lead at the end of the period. The second quarter was much of the same, as both teams continued to battle it out. However, Zalgiris managed to pull ahead and take a 37-30 lead into halftime.

Things changed after the halftime break, as Zalgiris was finally able to establish a significant lead. Turning up the heat, the visiting side from Kaunas extended the margin to 20.

The game turned into a complete blowout in the fourth quarter, as a 28-11 stretch pushed the gap to 94-57 at the final buzzer.

For Zalgiris, the leading scorer was big man Kevarrius Hayes, who dropped 14 points. He was closely followed by Laurynas Birutis who contributed 12 points to the tally, as Lukas Lekavicius ended up with 10. Arnas Butkevicius had 9 points to his name, as Achille Polonara and Isaiah Taylor chipped in with 8 apiece.
