Zalgiris’ home game in Garliava brings narrow win over Wolves 1
Zalgiris played their last home game in Garliava due to Zalgirio Arena availability, and secured their 25th victory in the Betsafe-LKL, defeating Alytus Wolves, 71-65.
The game’s first quarter had promise of a close affair, as the opening quarter had Zalgiris up by just two.
Nevertheless, Zalgiris ran off to a good run and managed to build a double-digit advantage before the halftime buzzer.
The game slowed down in the third quarter, with the Wolves chipping away at the lead to make it a 7-point game before the final ten minutes.
Zalgiris’ opponents didn’t manage to close the gap, with Zalgiris’ successful free-throw shooting confirming the win.
Zalgiris was led by its big men, as Laurynas Birutis scored 13, with Rolands Smits adding another 10 points. Edgaras Ulanovas finished the night with 9 points, while Karolis Lukosiunas added 7. Kevarrius Hayes and Tomas Dimsa both chipped in with 6.
