Zalgiris goes to LKL Finals after win in Panevezys 14
The Betsafe-LKL semi-final series ended with the victory of Zalgiris Kaunas. On Sunday, Zalgiris defeated 7bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys 95-66, won the series 3-1, and will play the first game of the best-of-five final series on Thursday at Zalgirio Arena.
Edgaras Ulanovas and Isaiah Taylor scored early in the game, Arnas Butkevicius made a coast-to-coast drive plus a foul, and Ignas Brazdeikis scored four points to make it 11-10. Taylor made a three-pointers, while Kevarrius Hayes finished the quarter with four consecutive points, 18-18.
Tyler Cavanaugh made two three-pointers and added a two, while Hayes scored four more points and Kaunas team pulled away 30-22. Ulanovas and Laurynas Birutis sank two free throws each, Tomas Dimsa added four points and Lukas Lekavicius hit two three-pointers to make it 44-31 at halftime.
Lekavicius also made a floater, while Ulanovas and Cavanaugh hit two three-pointers each to extend the lead to 58-37. Ulanovas made another three-pointer, Rolands Smits scored with a foul, and Birutis, Lekavicius and Smits scored on free throws to make it 70-49.
In the fourth quarter, Zalgiris finished things off. Taylor and Hayes scored six points each, Ulanovas and Cavanaugh also chipped-in, while Lekavicius, Karolis Lukosiunas and Liutauras Lelevicius, who was celebrating his 20th birthday, scored from long range to make it 95-66.
Cavanaugh was the leading scorer with 16 points. Ulanovas (15), Hayes (14 and 10 rebounds), Lekavicius (13), Taylor (11) also scored in double-digits.
