Zalgiris strengthens frontcourt with the signing of Brady Manek 16
Zalgiris Kaunas introduces its third new signing of the off-season. The green and white jersey will now be worn by forward Brady Manek.
The Lithuanian champions have signed a 1+1 contract with the 24-year-old 206 cm tall American who shone in the NBA Summer League.
Originally from Oklahoma City, Manek played in the NCAA at the University of Oklahoma and the University of North Carolina before turning pro last year.
Last season, the new Zalgiris player played in Australia and Turkey. He started the season with the Perth Wildcats and then moved to Bursa Tofaş.
In Australia, Manek averaged 13.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.
After moving to Turkey, Manek had an even better performance, averaging 15.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.
Combined with his performances in the Australian and Turkish leagues, the new member of the Zalgiris family made 38% of his long-range shots.
Before signing his contract with Zalgiris, Manek tried his luck in the NBA Summer League.
While wearing an Atlanta Hawks jersey, the American averaged 12.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
Manek is the third rookie for the Lithuanian champions, joining Naz Mitrou-Long and Danielius Lavrinovicius.
