Zalgiris players chose their jersey numbers 0

Zalgiris Kaunas players have chosen the jersey numbers that will accompany them in the upcoming season. Most of the Zalgiris players have kept the same jersey numbers they wore last year.

Zalgiris Kaunas managed to keep the core of the team during the summer, while only three newcomers joined the Lithuanian champions.

Danielius Lavrinovicius, who is moving to Kaunas from Nevezis-Optibet Kedainiai, has chosen the same number he used last season – 35.

Brady Manek will use the number 45, which has been his number for the last few years.

Another Zalgiris newcomer Naz Mitrou-Long had to work for his coveted number 3. Last season this number belonged to Dovydas Giedraitis.

“Number 3 runs pretty deep for me for many reasons, but the main ones are two. One, my birthday is on 3rd of August and the second is that Allen Iverson was my favorite player growing up. I wore it since I was a kid. So any time when I could get my hands on it, I would choose it, – said Mitrou-Long. – I would also like to thank Dovydas for allowing me to have this number. Now I own him three dinners in his favorite spots, when I arrive to Kaunas.”

Giedraitis, who gave up the number 3 jersey to Mitrou-Long, will wear the number 9 jersey next season.

All other Zalgiris players will keep their numbers the same. Keenan Evans will be the first to take the court during the team presentation wearing jersey number 2. Lukas Lekavicius will continue to wear number 4, Kevarrius Hayes will wear number 8, Rolandas Smits will wear number 10, Laurynas Birutis will wear number 15, Ignas Brazdeikis will wear number 17, Tomas Dimsa will wear number 33, Arnas Butkevicius will wear number 51 and Edgaras Ulanovas will wear number 92.
