Zalgiris defeats CBet Jonava at home 6
Zalgiris Kaunas (23-3) won another game in the Betsafe-LKL championship. Zalgiris defeated CBet Jonava (10-17) by 101-57 (30-15, 21-10, 26-13, 24-19) at home.
Dovydas Giedraitis hit a three-pointer, Rolands Smits and Laurynas Birutis scored four points each, and Edgaras Ulanovas finished a fast-break with a foul to make it 14-4. Giedraitis made another three-pointer, Keenan Evans, Kevarrius Hayes and Lukas Lekavicius connected on free throws, Birutis scored a two-pointer, and Edmond Sumner and Brady Manek hit a three-pointer each, 30-15.
Sumner raided the basket, Evans made two threes and a free throw, and Ulanovas added a point from the free-throw line, 40-21. Birutis scored eight points in a row and Lekavicius finished the second quarter with a three-pointer, 51-25.
Manek and Giedraitis each hit a three-pointer, Ulanovas scored four points, and Birutis was good inside, 63-31. Smits, Lekavicius and Sumner all scored from long range, while debutant Demetre Rivers and Birutis scored each, 77-38.
Rivers and Nedas Montvila hit a three-pointer each, Sumner had a raid under the basket and Hayes scored four points to make it 89-41. Danielius Lavrinovicius made two three-pointers and Manek finished the game with six points, 101-57.
Birutis was the best scorer with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Manek had 12 points and 6 rebounds, while Sumner tallied 10 points and 6 assists.
