Keenan Evans undergoes knee surgery after an injury 28
Zalgiris Kaunas guard Keenan Evans will have to miss basketball for some time. The Zalgiris player underwent knee surgery on Monday at Gijos Klinikos.
Evans suffered the injury at the end of the third quarter of the third game of the Betsafe-LKL semi-finals series against 7bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys. After jumping he felt pain in his knee and could leave the court only with the help of his teammates.
On Monday, after a detailed examination, Evans was diagnosed with a tear of the patella ligament and underwent surgery, which was performed by orthopedic traumatologist Prof. Rimtautas Gudas.
“The surgery lasted two hours. We considered a number of surgical methods because the situation was really difficult, but the operation was successful,” said Prof. Gudas.
After a period of passive rehabilitation following the surgery, Evans will undergo a new examination to determine the further course of his rehabilitation, but it is already clear that it will take at least 6-8 months.
