The start of Lithuanian league season is marked by three wins 0

The beginning of Lithuanian Basketball League was not too hard for Zalgiris Kaunas. The fresh winners of BBL Cup had to play 3 games in 5 days, but with using his players rationally coach Gintaras Krapikas claimed the victories vs. Aisciai Kaunas, Alytus and Juventus Utena teams.

The clash between two Kaunas teams happened on Monday, when Zalgiris came on top beating Aisciai 93:47. Zalgiris had even six players scoring in double figures: Dainius Salenga with 14 points, Tadas Klimavicius – 13, Marcus Brown – 12, Mirza Begic – 11 (8 rebounds), Adas Juskevicius – 11, Mantas Kalnietis – 10, Povilas Cukinas – 10.

On Wednesday played first home at home in Kauno Sporto Hale. The visitors from Alytus could not keep the pace as Zalgiris cruised to 97:65 victory. Martynas Pocius and Marcus Brown were the leading scorers with 16 points each. Mantas Kalnietis added 14 points and 5 assists, while his backup Zygimantas Janavicius scored 10.

The third victory in Lithuanian league was achieved on Friday, when Zalgiris overcame the resistance of debutants – Juventus Utena – with 65:51 win. This time nobody could stop Travis Watson, who finished the game with 13 points and 12 rebounds. The pair of Mantas Kalnietis and Dainius Salenga added 12 points apiece.
