Zalgiris too strong for Techasas 0
Zalgiris came out on top of Techasas 80:69 in a closely contested LKL regular season game in Panevezys on Saturday.
Both teams had problems with filling out the roster as Zalgiris played without Travis Watson, Mirza Begic, Tadas Klimavicius and Mantas Kalnietis, who all have a flu and Techasas had 8 eligible players for selection.
Zygimantas Janavicius, who replaced Kalnietis in the starting lineup, was only shy of a triple double by scoring 16 points, gathering 12 rebounds and dishing out 7 assists, Dainius Salenga and Povilas Cukinas also added 16 each, while Siim-Sander Vene contributed 9 points and 10 rebounds to the victory for Zalgiris. Techasas was in the game mostly in part to good performances by Darius Griskenas (17 points and 9 rebounds) and Gytis Sirutavicius (16). Rytis Streikus was third in scoring for the hosts with 14 points.
In spite of being behind by only a couple of points throughout the game, the hosts were not able to keep up with Zalgiris as the favorites went on a 12:0 rally late in the fourth to clinch a seventh straight victory in the LKL.
