Easy walk for Zalgiris in Alytus 0
Zalgiris had another routine victory in the Lithuanian League (LKL) after flying past twelve-placed Alytus 103:62 (27:7, 29:21, 26:11, 21:23) on the road on Tuesday.
Martynas Pocius top-scored for Zalgiris with 18 and Aleksandar Capin had 14 points. Dainius Salenga and Travis Watson collected 13 points each as Marcus Brown and Mantas Kalnietis added 11 and 10 respectively.
Andrius Aleksandrovas led the game in scoring with 24 in his account, Vilius Sumskis scored 14 while Paulius Kleiza made a contribution of 12 points.
Zalgiris bolted away from the very beginning of the game after winning a 12:0 run. The club from Kaunas didn’t lower the gear and had a 27:6 lead after Martynas Pocius nailed it from downtown. Alytus had big trouble of offensively and could only go on the scoresheet halfway through the first quarter.
Despite turning on the scoring, the hosts couldn’t even provide thoughts of the game being closer as Zalgiris confidently walked passed the opposition and moved to 22-1 in the league table as Alytus is now 5-18.
