Lithuanian national team ended their friendly game marathon, while Zalgiris Kaunas had a first exhibition match after just one week of practices. No wonder that Lithuania was on a high note cruising past Zalgiris Kaunas 94:67 (25:13, 21:12, 24:7, 24:25) in their last game before the start of the World Championship in Turkey.

You can check out the moments from the game in our photo gallery. Zalgiris started the game well and took an unexpected lead at 5:0 but was soon hit back with nine straight points by the Lithuanian national team. This run was soon followed by long-range shots from Paulius Jankunas and Tomas Delininkaitis who made the gap even more obvious at 25:13.

The Lithuanian national team continued its great performance as Martynas Gecevicius’ three-pointer made the game a blow-out – the scoreboard was showing 44:24.

Linas Kleiza scored his first points only midway through the third period to finish off a 15:5 run as the lead reached 30 points (59:29). There were no questions about who was going to come out victorious after the final buzzer, however Zalgiris guys didn’t allow the margin to grow and made some nice runs in the final minutes.

A trip to Izmir awaits Team Lithuania as they’re going to play their first group game against New Zealand already after four days counting from today.
