Zalgiris humiliates Juventus at home 0
Zalgiris continued its great start in the Lithuanian league (LKL) by humiliating Juventus Utena 96:56 (25:18, 27:8, 24:13, 20;16) in a home game in Kaunas.
The side from Kaunas improved its record to 4-0 while Juventus suffered the first loss after opening the season with a win and is now 1-1.
Only five points separated the teams after the first period, but the home team went on a 12:0 run that gave them a 35:18 lead.
Zalgiris didn’t seem to be satisfied with such an advantage and kept pushing forward and the game started to become more of a humiliation than a basketball match as the scoreboard showed 89:44.
Paulius Jankunas led the hosts with 20 points, Tomas Delininkaitis had 15 as Tadas Klimavicius and Mindaugas Kuzminskas had 10 and 9 respectively.
Juventus’ forward Aurimas Kieza banged in a game-high of 26 points, Gediminas Maceina added 8 points and 8 assists while Zydrunas Urbonas finished the game with 6.
