LKL: Zalgiris strolls past Sakalai 0
Zalgiris continued the stretch of fine form in the Lithuanian League (LKL) and won the sixth straight game in the domestic league. The club from Kaunas defeated Sakalai 92:69 (32:19, 23:19, 16:9, 21:22) on the road and moved to a 6-0 record.
Despite a bright start, Sakalai couldn’t hold their early lead for long and lost a 23:7 run to Zalgiris to fall behind by double-digits (25:15).
It all looked like an easy stroll in the park from then on as last year’s runners-up put up a show against the lowly Sakalai side to ease to another win.
Omar Samhan led Zalgiris with 18 points, Aleksandar Capin and Paulius Jankunas both had 14 as Tadas Klimavicius added 13 for Zalgiris.
Virginijus Sirvydis was Sakalai’s top-scorer with 15 points while Zydrunas Stankus and Mantas Kadzevicius collected 12 each.
