Zalgiris end Euroleague season with the loss 0
Zalgiris couldn’t end their Euroleague campaign on a high note after having no chances of advancing from the Top 16 group even before the final game. The Greens from Kaunas suffered the fifth defeat in the Top 16 stage, losing 64-78 (20-19, 14-22, 15-17, 15-20) to Olympiacos, who are moving on the quarterfinals as the first seed.
Mantas Kalnietis led his hometown club with 16 points, while Trent Plaisted scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for a nice double-double. Tomas Delininkaitis and Boban Marjanovic collected 8 points each with the latter one adding an additional 8 rebounds, as Marcus Brown managed to end up with a negative ranking index despite scoring 7 points.
Olympiacos’ big man from Slovenia, Rasho Neterovic had a game-high 20 points, while Yotam Halperin, with 5 assists, and Jamon Gordon, with 6 rebounds, both scored 12 points as Vassilis Spanoulis ended the game with 10.
