Zalgiris suffers the first home loss 0

Zalgiris Kaunas had to face their first home court loss, playing reigning Euroleague champions Olympiacos Piraeus. Zalgiris scored a season-low 63 points, leading to a 63-77 (18-22, 9-10, 23-17, 13-29) defeat.
Marko Popovic hit a three to give Zalgiris a two-point lead before the final quarter. However, in the fourth quarter, Zalgiris was given a taste of their own medicine – Olympiacos hit four consecutive three-pointers to set themselves up with a double digit lead and give them their fifth victory in a row.
Rimantas Kaukenas was the games’ highest scorer with 17 points for Zalgiris. Paulius Jankunas added 11 points and 7 rebounds.
Olympiacos’ main offensive gun, Vassilis Spanoulis scored 16 points, Kostas Papanikolaou chipped in with 13, Josh Powell ended the game with 10.
