Klimavicius and Lipkevicius will continue in Kaunas 0
Zalgiris Kaunas reached new agreements with power forward Tadas Klimavicius and guard Vytenis Lipkevicius to keep them in its roster next season.
Klimavicius (2.04 meters, 30 years old) missed the entire 2012-13 Turkish Airlines Euroleague season due to a knee injury but is expected to return soon. He signed a one-year deal with Zalgiris and will enter his seventh season with the Lithuanian powerhouse.
The muscular power forward has played 60 Euroleague career games with Zalgiris, totaling 249 points and 191 rebounds. He helped Zalgiris win the Lithuanian double – league and cup titles – in 2011 and 2012, as well as three consecutive Baltic League crowns from 2010 to 2012. Klimavicius has also been a member of the Lithuanian national team and helped it to win a bronze medal at the 2010 FIBA World Championships.
Lipkevicius (1.95 meters, 24 years old) re-signed his contract until the end of the 2015-16 season. Last season with Zalgiris he won the Lithuanian League and reach the VTB League semifinals. He also helped Zalgiris win three domestic titles – Lithuanian League, Lithuanian Cup and Baltic League – in 2012. Lipkevicius has been a member of the Lithuanian U16, U18 and U20 national teams. He was a big part of Zalgiris junior team to win the 2007 Nike International Junior Tournament in Athens, Greece, and also won a silver medal with Lithuania at the 2009 U20 European Championships.
