Renaldas Seibutis signs with Zalgiris 0

Lithuanian champion Zalgiris Kaunas has signed guard Renaldas Seibutis for the next season with an option for another.

Seibutis (1.98 meters, 30 years old) arrives from Darussafaka Istanbul, where last season he averaged 11.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 30 regular season games.

Right now Renaldas is a starter for Lithuania’s national team, which will begin Eurobasket2015 games tomorrow in Riga, Latvia.

Seibutis will be coming back to his native Lithuania after having played with Lietuvos rytas Vilnius from 2011 to 2014. Before that, he played in Spain with Bilbao Basket and in Greece with Olympiacos Piraeus and Maroussi.

He started his career with Sakalai, also in Lithuania, in 2003. He was an All-Eurocup First Team selection in 2011-12, and was also a member of the Lithuanian national team, with which he won a silver medal at the 2013 EuroBasket and a bronze medal at the 2010 Worlds.
