LKL champions continue their winning streak 0

Zalgiris Kaunas defeated Nevezis Kedainiai on Sunday at Zalgirio arena. This was the 19th LKL win in a row for the greens. Final score – 80:59 (22:11, 25:13, 19:15, 14:20).

Zalgiris came out of the gate focused and managed to gain a double-digit lead early. The first quarter finished 22:11.

It was a similar story in the second period. Zalgiris demonstrated solid defense and were able to put the ball in the basket easily. Behind efforts by Lukas Lekavicius and Edgaras Ulanovas the greens doubled their lead before the halftime (47:24).

The third quarter was a bit more competitive. Nevezis Kedainai showed better defense, but Zalgiris still won the period (66:39).

The final quarter was very special for youngster Gytis Masiulis. This was his debut game with Zalgiris main team. Two other young players Paulius Valinskas and Isaiah Hartenstein got a lot of playing time too – all of them played solid basketball and managed to close the game with confidence. Zalgiris won – 80:59.

Kevin  Pangos scored 11 for Zalgiris. Brock Motum ant Augusto Lima each added 10 points.

Jermaine Love got 20 points for Nevezis and Paulius Petrilevicius scored 11.
