Zalgiris defeated Lietuvos Rytas in the Betsafe LKL championship with a 77-66 home victory at Zalgirio Arena on Friday evening, pulling away in the standings.
With five games remaining in the Regular Season, Zalgiris are now at the top of the table with a 27-4 mark, with Lietuvos Rytas following in second with a 25-6 record.
It was the last Regular Season meetings between the sides, who split their four head-to-head games right down the middle.
Brandon Davies led the home side with a game-high 14 points in just 18 minutes of action, Edgaras Ulanovas scored 13 points while Paulius Jankunas and Aaron White chipped in with 12 points each.
Mindaugas Girdziunas and Rokas Giedraitis were the only double-digit scorers for Lietuvos Rytas with 11 points each, while Arnas Butkevicius had 8 points.
If the teams were to finish the Regular Season with identical records, Zalgiris would hold the tie-breaker due to a favorable point differential in head-to-head games.
