Kavaliauskas: “We are having some really good stretches” 17
Zalgiris will be leaving for Munich on Thursday, as they prepare for the EuroLeague matchup against Bayern.
Big man Antanas Kavaliauskas shared his thoughts with Zalgiris TV on the upcoming bout.
“We’ll have to wait and see what the doctors say, but I do believe I’ll be in practice tomorrow. I’m getting better, going through therapy. We had a couple days off and I didn’t play against Rytas, so all this should help.”
After two consecutive wins in the EuroLeague, Zalgiris added an important win in the local front as well, defeating Rytas at home. Having been forced to sit out that game, Kavaliauskas witnessed everything off the sidelines.
“We’ve started playing better. We’ve had some really good stretches defensively and that has helped us win. The team played a nice brand of basketball. I don’t often get to see everything from the sidelines, but when you do, you see everything’s that happening. It was beautiful to watch. At the same time, it’s difficult not to be able to help your teammates out. I really wanted to get on the court, especially when that scuffle happened.”
Zalgiris will face an opponent that has an identical record in the standings, holding five wins in 11 games. The big man talked about the preparations for the game.
“We’ve been preparing for the game, we’ll be analyzing their play. The coaches will have prepared a game plan that we just need to follow. We just have to go out there and put up a fight.”
