#TimeOutZalgiris explores the backstage of Zalgiris – CSKA match-up 4
A packed Zalgirio Arena saw Zalgiris standing bravely in their classic duel against CSKA Moscow. Dalia Belickaite and #TimeOutZalgiris set out to cover the back stages of the the old rivalry.
She got talking to the lead vocalist of Freaks on Floor Justinas Jarutis, who revealed that he’s followed and supported Zalgiris for as long as he can remember, and watches every single game as long as he’s not out performing. The singer noted that he’d take Paulius Jankunas to join him in a duo.
“A duo? Probably, Paulius Jankunas. I have a great deal of respect and a liking for him. He seems like a very serious guy to me.”
We had a special couple of fans rooting in the stands as well, as Thomas Walkup’s parents, Raymond and Lisa Walkup, paid their son a visit.
“It’s beautiful here, but it’s so cold. It’s very exciting. I’ve never been to a louder arena. Thomas is learning a lot, he’s growing. He’s working really hard. He’s always been a hard worker. He loves the team, it’s just a nice team atmosphere.”
Belickaite also heard out the fans’ opinions on who’d they take to help deal with the snowy Lithuanian winter. Antanas Kavaliauskas and Paulius Jankunas were set for snow shoveling duty, whereas Edgaras Ulanovas and Brandon Davies would probably be the first responders in case a car broke down in the cold.
