Zalgiris loses the defense of King Mindaugas Cup 108
A fourth-quarter comeback saw Rytas lift the Kidy Tour King Mindaugas Cup on their home floor in Vilnius, knocking down the previous title-holders Zalgiris in dramatic fashion.
Having trailed 52-43 in the fourth quarter, the Final Four hosts made up the gap in the final minutes of the contest to come away with a 70-67 triumph, recapturing the trophy for the first time since 2016.
Chris Kramer led Rytas, finishing the night with 15 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals, while big man Artsiom Parakhouski earned the MVP honors after collecting a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds and registering 3 blocks.
Having left a mark in the comeback with a couple of clutch three-pointers, Rok Stipcevic chipped in with 13 points, as D.J. Seeley and Arnas Butkevicius scored 11 and 10, respectively.
For Zalgiris, who had won the last two editions of the Kidy Tour King Mindaugas Cup, Marius Grigonis tallied 15 points, while Leo Westermann and Aaron White collected 11 points apiece.
