Leo Westermann is ready to bounce back after tough loss 0

Zalgiris will step back on the EuroLeague Quarterfinals stage on Thursday and they are determined to do better against the league’s top team, Fenerbahce.

Leo Westermann talked to Zalgiris TV during Wednesday practice and tried to make sense of what had happened the day before.

“There were a lot of things… We didn’t do almost anything correctly. Especially the physical battles. We have to show ourselves that we can compete. We can definitely do way better, we are way better than what we showed on Tuesday. That was the subject of the video review.”

Westermann is ready to move on and not look back at the result of the first game.

“It’s difficult to explain what happened, we don’t want to stay too much on this game. Right after the game I was already on to the next one. It’s a series, not a final four. We still have a chance to have another game tomorrow. We definitely want to show another picture of ourselves.”

Leo want to see them team returning to the gritty, determined and fighting style of basketball that Zalgiris has become known for.

“We know we can do better and that’s what we want to show to the people also. That was not us to take a 30-point loss and not battle and fight, how Zalgiris should play. That was the purpose of the video and I think the team is aware and ready to compete.”

The second game of the series against Fenerbahce tips off at 8:45 PM GMT+3.
