#TimeOutZalgiris checks Zalgiris cheerleaders’ routine 0
On Wednesday night a Halloween atmosphere in Zalgirio Arena witnessed a EuroLeague battle between Zalgiris and Zenit, as Joker-faced dancers and all kinds of different beasts roamed the arena.
Zalgiris TV’s Dalia Belickaite was once again rolling with #TimeOutZalgiris, as she went out and talked to some of the Zalgiris cheerleaders.
“We come here three hours before the game, have an hour-long practice, and then while the players are warming up, we go to do our make-up, do our hair. We do all our make-up ourselves and we’ve got an hour or so to get it done. We just do it to each other: cheeks, lashes, we lend each other lipstick, everything really…”
One of the dancers, Ieva, talked about how intense the routines are during an average game.
“In a game, we usually have 7-10 dances. It all really depends on the game. We’ve got so many different outfits, maybe 12-15. For us, this isn’t really work, it’s more of a hobby.”
Lithuanian stand-up comedian Mantas Stonkus was also in the arena, as always. He got an array of unconventional questions as a challenge.
Given the opportunity to choose between having Saras’ screaming as an alarm for the rest of his life, or wearing Zalgirinis’ head whenever he goes out, he was sure that he’d rather live through the coach’s voice. Stonkus was also very clear and explicit when he chose going fishing with Paulius Jankunas over a sauna party with Arturas Milaknis.
