#TimeOutZalgiris taking in the World Children’s Day festivities 0
Tuesday’s EuroLeague had a special feel to it, as Zalgiris and Panathinaikos battled in a game dedicated for the World Children’s Day. It was a day for children, by children, as the usual portraits of players on the cube were replaced by drawings of Raseniai foster care home during the players’ presentation.
Alongside the typical Zalgiris host Andrius Ziurauskas, Sarunas Jasikevicius’ daughter Aila was there creating a festive atmosphere, while his son Lukas tipped the game off with a symbolic jump ball.
It turned into a special episode of #TimeOutZalgiris, as Dalia Belickaite was joined by Neidas, as they talked to children and celebrities all over the arena.
One of the celebrities was singer Egle Jurgaityte, who won third place in the 2008 children’s Eurovision. She was happy to have another chance to go to a Zalgiris game.
“It’s not my first game, I was in one when I was little. But it’s been I’ve wanted to be back here for a while now and it’s really unbelievable. I think the greatest impression was how the fans were supporting throughout the entire game. It’s unreal.”
Meanwhile, the children in the arena were naming the qualities a great player must have and tried to guess how much they earn. All this and more – in the latest episode of #TimeOutZalgiris!
