Three members of Zalgiris coaching staff to move to Barcelona 58
As Zalgiris said its goodbyes to head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius, it also prepares for more changes in its coaching line-up. Three more Zalgiris staff members will make a move to Spain, as Darius Maskoliunas, Tomas Masiulis and Justinas Grainys will all be joining Saras in FC Barcelona.
The head coach of the Lithuanian national team Darius Maskoliunas has been an assistant in Kaunas since 2016, while Tomas Masiulis joined the main team in 2018. Meanwhile, Justinas Grainys has been working as a physical preparation coach in Zalgiris for nearly a decade.
Coach Jasikevicius wanted to see his good buddies together with him in Spain, and Zalgiris did not bring out any issues for that.
“They are all great specialists and their work is highly appreciated. We thank Darius, Tomas and Justinas for their work in Zalgiris and we wish them the best of luck,” – said the team’s director Paulius Motiejunas.
Zalgiris continues its searches for a new head coach, who will be forming his coaching staff himself.
