Coach Schiller before Friday challenge: “Real means quality and experience” 1

After three days in self-isolation, Zalgiris got back to practice on Monday evening with as much energy as coach Martin Schiller could have hoped for.

Because of a positive Covid-19 result for Rokas Jokubaitis, the green-and-whites had to reschedule the two games against Neptunas and Pieno Zvaigzdes, and had more time to prepare for the Real Madrid than usual.

“The players were very happy to be back on court after three days with no basketball,” – the coach remembered the sight in practice court on Monday.

Friday’s opponents only secured two wins in six games, but Coach Schiller has no doubts that they are a team of the highest caliber.

“It’s obvious that Real Madrid means quality and experience. The biggest kicker is their continuity, the team has been together for a long time. They’ve won their last four games and all 9 in the Spanish league. All of us know what kind of quality is coming there.”
