Martin Schiller: “Anybody can beat anybody in this league” 0
After a dramatic win in Valencia, Zalgiris takes the back end of their EuroLeague double week to Northern Spain, where they take on Baskonia in Vitoria.
Before the upcoming battle, Zalgiris head coach Martin Schiller shared his thoughts about the upcoming opponents.
“Baskonia is very fast offensively and they rebound the ball offensively very well. Two focal points will be transition defense and defensive rebounding. With two games in three days, the biggest thing for us is regeneration, to get the bodies right and get the energy back so we can have a good competition tomorrow.”
Zalgiris won the first meeting between these two teams handidly, taking the 92-73 victory in Kaunas. The Vitoria side is currently on a four-game losing streak.
Neverhteless, Schiller is not looking for an easy outing where he could manage his minutes.
“Both sides would be mistaken to play off that first game. In this league, every game, every team can beat anybody on any given night. There won’t be any underestimating from our side. This is not the game to manage minutes. It’s a game to compete as hard as we can and play the guys who I need on the floor.”
Zalgiris’ game against Baskonia tips off at 22:00 on Friday.
