Zalgiris not troubled by Siauliai in Zalgirio Arena 4
Defending Lithuanian champions Zalgiris took on Siauliai for the second time this week in the Betsafe-LKL. This time the green-and-whites took control of the game in the second half, as they cruised to an easy 96-60 win in Zalgirio Arena
The two sides exchanged baskets throughout the first quarter, with Zalgiris getting the edge by two points after 10 minutes of action. The back-and-forth carried straight into the second period, with the teams fighting neck-to-neck for every possession, and Zalgiris up by a single point, 37-36.
Nevertheless, the Kaunas side turned on a higher gear after the break, pacing their way to an 18-point lead before the final quarter. That was not the end of the nightmare half for Siauliai, as Zalgiris continued asserting their dominance, as the lead rose to 36 before the final buzzer.
Marius Grigonis was the game’s top scorer with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Martinas Geben added 15 points and 7 boards, while Marek Blazevic ended up with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Karolis Lukosiunas and Agustine Rubit each added 8 points to the tally.
