Dzukija provide no worries for Zalgiris in Alytus 3
Zalgiris secured another victory in the Betsafe-LKL, as they flew by Dzukija in Alytus, 95-78. The victory sees the green-and-whites improve to a 22-3 record, further solidifying their spot at the top of the standings.
While the opening quarter was a close affair, with the guests from Kaunas arriving to a 2-point lead after the initial 10 minutes, Zalgiris managed to build up a double-digit advantage before the halftime break with a balanced offensive approach, 43-33.
The 10-point advantage quickly grew, as Zalgiris dropped 28 points coming out of the break to expand their lead to 19 before the final fourth. With no surprises from the hosts, Zalgiris coasted to the finish line, taking the 95-78 victory.
Lukas Lekavicius was Zalgiris’ leading scorer with 17 points, as Thomas Walkup chipped in with 13. Marius Grigonis added 11 points, while Rokas Jokubaitis and Augustine Rubit both ended up in double-digit scoring with 10 apiece.
