Zalgiris tips off Media Day sessions in 2021 0

The 2021-22 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season will start sooner than ever, on September 30, and following suit, Media Day has arrived early, too!

The team that seized the privilege of getting this annual rite underway is Zalgiris Kaunas, which hosted the first Media Day ever to be held in August on Monday.

During Media Day, all the teams participate in promotional video shoots, official photo sessions, feature interviews and the like, while also including fans in the fun over EuroLeague and club social media outlets.

One of the main attractions of Media Day traditionally is to see recently signed players in their new jerseys. In the case of Zalgiris, that meant Niels Giffey, Emmanuel Mudiay, Josh Nebo, Tyler Cavanaugh, Janis Strelnieks and, perhaps especially, Mantas Kalnietis, who returned to the club he grew up with at the start of the summer.

With Media Day in Kaunas, the preparations for the EuroLeague season are officially underway. In the coming weeks, the other 17 teams will also host their sessions just in time for the start of the season on September 30.
