Anadolu Efes dissmantles Zalgiris in Turkey 35
Anadolu Efes Istanbul and Zalgiris Kaunas finished their Gloria Cup performance with the EuroLeague champions claiming 82-60 (22-14, 27-14, 18-17, 15-15) victory and leaving the Lithuanian champions without a single pre-season win.
Efes decided the match outcome before halftime. The EuroLeague champions went on a 20-2 run at the start of the second quarter to gain a 20-point lead (38-18).
Martin Schiller’s squad managed to cut their deficit to 15, but Efes responded with three straight 3-pointers to nearly double Zalgiris’ score (49-25).
After the break, Ergin Ataman’s team maintained the lead and won the match.
Zalgiris competed in this match without Janis Strelnieks, Mantas Kalnietis, and Emmanuel Mudiay, while Efes were without Chris Singleton, Shane Larkin, Krunoslav Simon, and Tibor Pleiss.
