Coach Zdovc looks into Unics challenge 2
Zalgiris Kaunas lost Regimantas Miniotas, who seriously injured his hand in the practice, right before the trip to Kazan.
“Unfortunately, he (Regimantas Miniotas) has problems with a hand. He just suffered the injury during a practice. We will see what happened, but I do not believe that he will be able to fly with us to Kazan”, – Jure Zdovc told in the pre-game press conference.
Tomorrow, Zalgiris will play their second Turkish Airlines EuroLeague double-week game against UNICS Kazan.
“UNICS is playing very good lately. They gained confidence and play good in defense. Through the defense they get confidence in offense too, which is seen in this winning streak of theirs. They have great roster and it will be difficult game for us. We will try to learn from our mistakes from Wednesday’s game. We need to be more strong and to play smarter”, – Zdovc told.
The Lithuanian powerhouse is also missing Joffrey Lauvergne and Paulius Jankunas in the big men department.
The French center is back to working out after a shoulder injury but is not expected to play yet. Team captain Paulius Jankunas is still sidelined after meniscus surgery.
Regimantas Miniotas, who arrived in Kaunas on November 18, is averaging 2 points and 1 rebound in four EuroLeague games (5.5 minutes) and posting 6 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists over three Lithuanian Basketball League contests (12.3 minutes).
