Jure Zdovc: “They believe in me, and that makes my job easier” 10
This week the green-and-whites had to change up their schedule, going from an expected matchup against Milano AX Armani Exchange to getting back to the practice grounds before their short holiday break.
Before the holidays Zalgiris Insider caught up with head coach Jure Zdovc on the #ŽalgirisOnAir+ podcast. The show included both on-and-off-the-court topics, as the Slovenian shared his love for skiing and also talked about his arrival to the team and breaking a long losing streak.
“It’s the first time I jump into a team mid-season, in the midst of a lot of difficult games. It definitely wasn’t easy for me. I have to say, the people around me at very positive – they believe in me and it makes my job easier.”
The head coach shared a bit on where their focus lies in practice.
“We’ve been working a lot on playing against a switch-all defense. Everything depends on reading situations, positioning, timely movement. If you miss an opportunity to make a good pass, it makes it very difficult to play.”
The full conversation can be found on the Zalgiris Insider platform and available to all subscribers, and Coach Zdovc talked about his philosophy, wins in EuroLeague, the comeback from injury for Paulius Jankunas, the Tai Webster project, besides traditionally answering fan questions.
