Zalgiris heads to Milan with changes in lineup 0

Zalgiris is set to face their EuroLeague Round 23 match-up against AX Armani Exchange with several changes in its lineup.

Right before taking the journey to Italy, the green-and-whites received much-awaited reinforcements, as both Arturas Milaknis and Tai Webster are ready to get back into action after missing a weeks-worth of basketball with COVID-19. Paulius Jankunas, who was also out, will return to full practicing in the near future.

Zalgiris head coach Jure Zdovc had cold symptoms earlier in the week, but received two negative COVID-19 tests and returned to lead the team’s practices back on Wednesday.

Nevertheless, this week doesn’t come free of losses, as Josh Nebo remains in Kaunas with an illness, as do Janis Strelnieks and Joffrey Lauvergne, who are still recovering from injuries.

Strelnieks missed the last two games with a hamstring injury, while Lauvergne is increasing his workload and slowly returning to team practices.

Mantas Kalnietis injured his ankle in the game against Rytas on Sunday and missed several practices, but is traveling with the team and is looking forward to the upcoming game.

The two remaining spots in the teams 12-man lineup will be filled by Zalgiris-2 youngsters Titas Sargiunas and Motiejus Krivas.
