Lekavicius scores season-high, as Zalgiris get 2-1 lead over Neptunas 13
Zalgiris Kaunas comfortably beat Neptunas 87-71 (20-11, 31-22, 23-19, 13-19) at home, getting payback for their 68-70 loss in Game 2 and making it 2-1 in the LKL quarter-final series. The two teams will see off next Monday for Game 4.
Joffrey Lauvergne (15 points) and Lukas Lekavicius (13 points) led Zalgiris offense in the first half. The hosts were already up 51-33 and everything looked easy for Kazys Maksvytis’ team.
Lekavicius finished the game with 26 points, coming close to his all-time scoring-high (28) and boasting excellent shooting (8/9 from the field, 6/6 free-throws). Joffrey Lauvergne followed with 20 points and Tyler Cavanaugh added 8.
On the other hand, Neptunas couldn’t help it when the hosts found offensive rhythm. Benas Griciunas went for 14 points for Klaipeda team.
