Zalgiris to debut alternate uniforms in game against Panathinaikos 5

On the 2nd of December, a packed Zalgirio Arena will once again come together, as Zalgiris host Panathinaikos Athens in the EuroLeague Round 11 match-up in Kaunas.

This game will also mark the debut of an alternate uniform, as Zalgiris will don black jerseys with the city name inscribed on them, instead of the traditional green-and-white jerseys.

“It is becoming a custom that at least once a season we wear a different, slightly unusual Zalgiris jersey. Alternative uniforms aren’t something new on the other side of the Atlantic, but it’s still something quite new here. It will be very interesting to try out these new jerseys in a packed arena,” said Zalgiris captain Edgaras Ulanovas.

In recent memory, Zalgiris has had the chance to play in retro-style jerseys, as well as the Military Day jersey.

Also on Friday, Zalgirio Arena will celebrate Volunteers’ Day, dedicated to the helpers from the Sports Volunteers’ Union, Youth Line, Kaunas Hospice House and others who help the club during the EuroLeague and Betsafe-LKL games. In addition, Saulius Prusaitis and Igle will perform during the half-time break.
