Youth makes impact in Zalgiris’ 11th win 1

Despite several key players sitting out due to injury or illness, Zalgiris had no trouble taking their eleventh Betsafe-LKL win this season, as they defeated Pieno zvaigzdes Pasvalys, 84-61.

Zalgiris were down 0-7 in the opening three-minute stretch, but from then on it was nothing up but up for the green-and-whites.

Zalgiris slowly raised their lead to eight by halftime and took the margin to double-digits soon after.

With its youth making an appearance, the Kaunas side extended the lead to 16 going into the final quarter, and it seemed clear the game wouldn’t be turning into a nail-biter.

Motiejus Krivas dropped all his 12 points in the last 10 minutes, helping Zalgiris seal a big win, 84-61.

His counterpart at the center position Laurynas Birutis added another 12  points to go along with 9 boards, as Dovydas Giedraitis, Arnas Butkevicius and Keenan Evans chipped in with 11 apiece.
