Zalgiris takes care of business against Lietkabelis at home 3

Zalgiris concluded their week with another victory, as the green-and-whites took down 7bet-Lietkabelis in the Betsafe-LKL, 85-77.

The Kaunas side now improves to 12-1, as 7bet-Lietkabelis dropped their fifth game for a 8-5 record in the standings.

The green-and-whites surged ahead early on, as their offense was rolling to a 24-12 advantage after the opening 10 minutes.

Nevertheless, the opposition were quick to respond with an array of three-pointers to tilt the score to their favor. The team from Panevezys now held a 5-point lead at the break, 32-37.

With a jolt of energy after halftime, and eight consecutive points from Keenan Evans, Zalgiris reestablished their superiority with an 8-point margin at the end of the quarter.

A barrage of three-pointers throughout the final period allowed Zalgiris to retain control and finish strong with an 85-77 victory.

Tomas Dimsa was Zalgiris’ top scorer with 17 points. Keenan Evans added 13, as Laurynas Birutis finished up with 11. Karolis Lukosiunas and Arnas Butkevicius both ended the game with 9 points.
