Zalgiris starts the week with a victory in Siauliai 2
Zalgiris Kaunas improved to 15-and-1 in the Betsafe-LKL, with a road victory in Siauliai. Kazys Maksvytis’ men defeated local Siauliai side 93-75 and dropped them to an 8-8 record.
It was a close affair in the first half, as neither side really managed to get enough momentum to jump ahead in the first two periods.
The green-and-whites went into the break ahead by five, 43-38, and things seemed to get worse, as Siauliai ran off on a 9-0 run. Nevertheless, Zalgiris quickly turned up the heat behind great shooting by Karolis Lukosiunas and built up a double-digit advantage heading into the final 10 minutes, 70-55.
Lukas Lekavicius opened the fourth quarter with 11 quick points and the ended up victorious, 93-75.
Lukosiunas was doing damage from beyond the arc all game long, as he drained 7-of-11 from beyond the arc for 21 points. Lekavicius added 16, as Ignas Brazdeikis finished up with 12. Tomas Dimsa sniffed double-digit scoring with 9, as Isaiah Taylor ended up with 8 points and 6 dimes.
