Tomas Dimsa will continue to wear Zalgiris jersey 11
Zalgiris Kaunas, which has regained the Lithuanian championship title, continues to costruct its team for the upcoming season and has extended the contract with one more player.
Tomas Dimsa will stay in the team of the Lithuanian champions, who have retained Rolands Smits and Kevarrius Hayes earlier.
The 29-year-old Dimsa, who is a product of Zalgiris system, has been granted a 2+1 contract extension.
“Tomas is a local player, a Kaunas man, who has been instilled with the green and white values. Such people are very much needed in the locker room. Besides, last season showed how versatile a player he is and how much he can do for us”, said Zalgiris head coach Kazys Maksvytis.
Dimsa, who earlier signed with Zalgiris in 2020, spent two years on loan with Spanish and Italian clubs before settling into the Zalgiris roster for the 2022-2023 season.
“I am happy to continue being part of Zalgiris. I came back after a break and finally felt the trust and support. We had a good season, so I didn’t have to think long about the contract extension,” Dimsa told Zalgiris.lt.
In the EuroLeague last season, Dimsa spent 15 minutes on the court and averaged 5.9 points per game.
In the Betsafe-LKL championship, his stats were better – 7.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists. By the way, in the Lithuanian championship Dimsa shot three-pointers with 41.1% accuracy.
