Arnas Butkevicius has successful ankle surgery 1
Zalgiris Kaunas forward Arnas Butkevicius underwent a successful ankle surgery on Monday in Kaunas. Butkevicius will miss about 6 weeks without basketball.
During the surgery, the spur near the Achilles tendon was removed. The surgery was performed by professor Rimtautas Gudas.
Butkevicius felt pain in his leg during the Betsafe-LKL Finals series. In the last game of the final series, he was only able to go on the court with painkillers.
Due to the surgery, Butkevicius will not represent the Lithuanian national team this summer and will miss the 2023 World Championship in the Philippines. After rehabilitation, he should be ready to start the 2023-2024 season.
