Zalgiris achieves another victory in Kedainiai 0
Zalgiris Kaunas (6-0) achieved another victory in the Betsafe-LKL Championship. Kazys Maksvytis’ team defeated Nevezis-Optibet Kedainiai (0-6) by 76-70 (31-24, 23-22, 10-11, 12-13) on the road.
Danielius Lavrinovicius scored a long-range shot at the beginning of the game, Keenan Evans converted a free throw, Laurynas Birutis scored a two-pointer and Lukas Lekavicius scored ten points, 16-13. Arnas Butkevicius added three points, Rolands Smits scored four, Lekavicius continued his impressive performance with six more, and Naz Mitrou-Long finished the quarter, 31-24.
Brady Manek scored five points midway through the second quarter, but the opponents got a little closer, 39-35. Lekavicius scored two more points, Butkevicius hit a three-pointer, Smits made two threes in a row, and Manek with Birutis finished the first half, 54-46.
After the break, Birutis scored four points, Manek dunked it home and Dovydas Giedraitis scored his first four points to end a very unproductive quarter, 64-57.
Evans and Lavrinovicius scored, while Birutis added a free throw and a two, Lekavicius made a three-pointer, and Giedraitis scored again, as the team celebrated the 76-70 victory.
Lekavicius was hard to stop with 21 points, Birutis collected 11 points and 8 rebounds, while Smits got to double-digits with 10 points.
