Zalgiris parts ways with Mitrou-Long 49
Zalgiris Kaunas says goodbye to defender Naz Mitrou-Long. The Lithuanian champions terminated the contract with the 30-year-old Canadian by mutual agreement.
“We thank Naz for his efforts and positive attitude. As a teammate and as a person, we have nothing but good words. Unfortunately, not everything worked out on the court, and his adjustment period took too long. Both Naz and the team want to move forward, so it was a mutual decision. We wish him the best of luck in the future,” said Zalgiris Kaunas Director Paulius Jankunas.
He added that Zalgiris has been actively monitoring the player market for some time now and the club is looking for a new player to fill the vacancy.
Mitrou-Long has played in all 9 EuroLeague games this season, playing just over 10 minutes, scoring 4.1 points, grabbing 1.2 rebounds and making 1 assist per game.
In the local championship, the guard did much better, averaging 8.4 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists.
