Zalgiris coaching staff is set for the 2024-2025 season 9
Zalgiris Kaunas, which is putting together its line-up for the new season, has renewed its coaching staff under the leadership of Italian specialist Andrea Trinchieri.
Vytautas Pliauga moves from the position of head coach of Zalgiris’ second team to the assistant coach of Trinchieri.
Renaldas Seibutis, who played two seasons in Zalgiris and worked on the coaching staff of Olimpas Palanga last season, will join the coaching staff. Seibutis, a long-time member of the Lithuanian men’s national basketball team, will be responsible for the development of players’ individual skills and will work with the youth players who are practicing with the main squad.
Andrew Antelidze, who has worked in the youth system and has already got used to the team during the Betsafe-LKL playoffs, has also been invited to join the Zalgiris’ coaching staff. The specialist will take up the position of video coordinator in Zalgiris.
The coaching staff will no longer include Evaldas Berzininkaitis, who has been with Zalgiris since the 2013-2014 season with a short break. In the new season, Berzininkaitis will move to Alvark Tokyo in Japan, where Dainius Adomaitis is the head coach.
The coaching staff will continue to include veterans Tautvydas Sabonis and Gintaras Krapikas, as well as Italian Massimiliano Menetti, who joined the team at the invitation of Trinchieri during the 2023-2024 season.
The team will continue to employ physical training coaches Justinas Grainys and Nerijus Navickas. In addition, Andrius Aukstakalnis, who has been working for Zalgiris-2 in recent years, will join the doctor Vytautas Kailius and the masseur Romas Petraitis.
